Quote:
"'A writer's problem does not change. He himself changes and the world he lives in changes but his problem remains the same. It is always how to write truly and having found what is true, to project it is such a way that it becomes a part of the experience of the person who reads it."
Ernest Hemingway

LaVerne Nygren

I was born in Lansing Michigan on August 13,1948 although, I grew up and graduated from high school in Fowlerville, a small farming town between Lansing and Detroit. In 1970, after being a 1960's hippy and antiwar protestor, I graduated from Michigan State University with a B.S. in Social Science and a teacher certificate. After Graduation I moved to Hawaii, married a South African woman I had known previously. Following our marriage in Hawaii, we moved to Florida and spent three years there. We moved to Orange County, Calif. in 1973.

I have worked as a manager for: a finance company, a restaurant, a restaurant equipment company and an electrical contractor in Orange County. I also worked at San Onofre nuclear power plant (A book is in the making from that job) and I owned and ran a bowling tournament club that eventually had a TV show on local cable TV. Moving to Riverside, Calif. in the mid 1980's, I became general manger of an underground electrical company after working on a horse ranch for three years. Knowing I would eventually want to write, I have kept journals, character sketches and short stories all my life. I felt one had to live before writing of life. A year ago a publisher expressed interest regarding the writings of my hippy years. Because of various upsets in my life I have not followed up. I have self-published a small book: HOME BUSINESS EXPOSE and am currently working on a novel of self discovery and tragedy.
