David Bellomy

Biography

David Bellomy is a retired San Bernardino Sheriff’s Captain. He has managed patrol, investigations, corrections, and administrative divisions. His last command was the Scientific Investigations Division. David was a forensic scientist for many years. His specialties included: questioned document examination, crime scene investigation, and crime scene photography. He was a Diplomat of the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors (LAB). He remains a Fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences.

David’s formal education includes: BS in Police Administration from the California State University, Los Angeles (1973), M.A. in Education from the California State University, San Bernardino (1977), and a Ph.D. in Government from Claremont Graduate University (1989). He has been a full time instructor at the following schools: (1) California State University, Los Angeles, (2) California State University, San Bernardino, and (3) Victor Valley College. His work has been published in “The Journal of California Law Enforcement” and the “California Sheriff.”
